Know the model and generation you are looking at

Hyundai has been a common sight on Egyptian roads for a long time, which means the used market includes several generations of the same nameplate, with visible differences in shape, interior and features between them. Before you compare asking prices, make sure you are comparing the same generation and a similar trim. A listing that looks cheap next to another may simply be an older design with less equipment, so identify the model year and trim first and only then judge the price.

Points to check on a used Hyundai

Ask how the car was used, whether privately, by a company or for ride-hailing work, because that changes how much wear to expect at a given mileage. Look for consistent panel gaps and paint across the body, check that all electrics and the air conditioning work as they should, and listen for noises from the suspension over rough patches during the test drive. Ask the seller to show the ownership documents and to explain their position to sell the car, whether they are the owner, a showroom, an authorised dealer or an agent acting with a power of attorney, check that the licence is current, and be cautious with any listing that will not let you inspect the car properly before you commit.
