Fuel prices in Egypt stay as they are. The automatic pricing committee for petroleum products decided to leave them unchanged, according to a statement from the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.
Prices per litre
- Petrol 80: about EGP 20.75
- Petrol 92: about EGP 22.25
- Petrol 95: about EGP 24
The prices hold until the committee meets again.
What the committee looked at
The committee said it reviewed the factors of the automatic pricing mechanism. The most important were the changes in the exchange rate and in the price of a barrel of Brent crude over July to September 2026, compared with the previous quarter.
It also looked at local and international developments that affect the pricing formula, global petroleum product prices, and the pricing steps taken in the past period.
Background
The Cabinet decided in the third quarter of this year to bring the committee back to work. It had stopped at the end of last year. The prime minister said then that the return of price reviews came in light of geopolitical changes that affected global crude prices. He said the government had borne the cost difference since those changes began.
