Cupra's first EV in Egypt, the Tavascan Endurance, has a range of up to 569 km on WLTP
In short
Kian Egypt, Cupra's exclusive agent, launched the electric Tavascan in Egypt with the Endurance version, up to 569 km WLTP. Cupra has sold more than 8,000 cars in Egypt since 2023.
Kian Egypt, the official and exclusive agent of Cupra in Egypt, has launched the new Cupra Tavascan. It is the Spanish brand's first fully electric coupe SUV and its first electric car in Egypt.
Sven Schuwirth, Cupra's executive vice president for sales, marketing and after-sales, came to Egypt for the launch. It is his first official visit. He toured Cupra's site at Kian Egypt in Abu Rawash, then went to the CUPRA Garage on the Dahshur Link in Sheikh Zayed for the launch event.
More than 8,000 cars since 2023
Cupra started operating in Egypt in 2023. It has sold more than 8,000 cars since then. Its sales grew 325% in 2025 compared with the year before.
The range began with the Leon. It now also includes the Formentor, the high-performance Formentor VZ and the Terramar, and now the all-electric Tavascan.
Schuwirth said the Tavascan launch marks the start of the brand's electric journey in Egypt. He said Cupra wants to widen its electric presence, and the Rafale is expected to play an important part. He also said Cupra aims to reach 10,000 cars sold in the near future.
Joseph Mounir, Cupra brand manager at Kian Egypt, said that when the brand started in 2023, the company believed Egyptian buyers wanted cars with a distinct character and design. He said selling more than 8,000 cars proved that.
