Automobility, the local agent for Geely in Egypt, committed to deliver reserved cars at the official prices announced when the contract was signed.
In a statement, the agent said it takes full responsibility for protecting customers' rights.
This comes as price rises hit dozens of models in the Egyptian market in recent days, including several Geely cars, both locally assembled and imported.
What the Division says about reservations
Montaser Zaitoun, a member of the General Automobile Division at the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, said the effect depends on where the customer stands in the purchase. Buyers who paid the full price at the old rates are not covered by the increases and will get their cars at the agreed prices.
Customers who did not pay in full, including those who reserved with a down payment or part of the price, may be affected. The new prices then depend on the reservation terms and the contract with the agent or distributor.
