In short

FAW's luxury brand Hongqi has appointed Hongqi Egypt, part of Sky Holding, as its official representative in Egypt. The plan includes 3 main showrooms and a dealer network. Service and warranty details are still to come.

What was announced

Hongqi, the luxury brand of China's FAW Group, has appointed Hongqi Egypt as its official representative in Egypt. Hongqi Egypt is one of the companies of Sky Holding.

Hongqi Egypt is an alliance of two companies, B Auto and Al Rizk Cars. Earlier, this alliance won the rights to represent and distribute Hongqi in Egypt, taking over from the previous agent.

The agreement was signed at a ceremony in China in September. Mohamed Bilal, CEO of Sky Holding, and Mohamed Rizk, CEO of Hongqi Egypt, attended.

The sales network

Hongqi Egypt plans a network with 3 main showrooms, in New Cairo, Sheikh Zayed and Alexandria. It also plans authorized dealers in Cairo, Giza, Ismailia, Tanta, Hurghada and Alexandria.

Sky Holding says it has worked in the car business since 1986. Its companies include B Auto and GAS, the authorized agent for Mercedes-Benz cars. It also owns companies in financing, leasing and insurance.

After-sales service

After-sales service will cover all Hongqi cars in Egypt, including cars already with customers. The company says it will offer genuine spare parts, technical support and the warranty approved by FAW.

The full details of the service network and warranty programs will be announced before the official commercial launch, the company said. Mohamed Rizk said the showroom and service center details will come with the launch announcement.

About Hongqi

Hongqi means "Red Flag" in Chinese. The brand started in 1958 and for years built cars only for leaders and state guests. Today it makes sedans, SUVs and fully electric cars. It is present in more than 30 countries and regions.

Bilal said Sky Holding entered the partnership with a long-term commitment. Rizk said the aim is to present Hongqi as a luxury brand, not as a new Chinese arrival. Shao, general manager of FAW's import and export company, said the brand looks forward to a new stage in Egypt with more cars carrying advanced technology.
